The BoxCaster is capable of receiving NTSC and PAL inputs via the composite port, and the following HD video standards via the HDMI port:
-
480p 29.97/30/59.94/60
- 525p 60
-
576p 25/50
-
720p 25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60
-
1080i 50/59.94/60
- 1080p 25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60
Any analog audio is supported; inputs are line-level. Uncompressed (L-PCM) HDMI audio is also supported at 44.1 or 48 kHz.
Note 1: We will output a 1080 signal natively at 1080p30 or you can hardcode the stream to 1080 (Sources - Click the BoxCaster - Edit Settings - Advanced Settings) if you send a 1080i59.97/60 signal. All other 1080 signals will be served out at 720.
Note 2: These are the frame rates of streaming at the following resolutions.
720p60 input encodes 720p at 30fps
1080p60 input encodes 720p at 30fps
1080p30 input encodes 1080p ~24-27fps
1080i60 input encodes 1080p ~23fps *when hardcoded at 1080p
Note 3: The BoxCaster has to encode for a specific standard so switching between standards mid-stream (e.g. changing resolutions or switching from HDMI to RCA) will cause video failure.
