Enterprise Last Mile Delivery reduces the load on your internet connection when many viewers watch a broadcast from the same location such as a corporate campus, conference center, or stadium. This feature will improve the viewer experience and help to avoid network issues on-site if a lot of people plan on watching it there.
This is currently an add on feature so please contact your Client Manager or send an email to CM@boxcast.com if you are interested in getting this feature.
Below will show you how to turn this feature on and off in the BoxCast Dashboard.
1. To turn on Enterprise Last Mile Delivery, start by clicking on Settings.
2. Click on Preferences, scroll down to Player Defaults and click on Edit.
3. Click on Enable Enterprise Last Mile Delivery and it will now be turned on for any broadcast moving forward.
Common Questions
Q: Can I turn the Enterprise Last Mile Delivery on or off?
A: Yes, you can turn this feature on or off on an account level.
Q: How does Enterprise Last Mile Delivery work?
A: It works using a technology called peer-to-peer sharing where devices that are on the same internet network share the video between devices rather than always fetching it from the cloud. This helps reduce the strain on a crowded local network where many people are watching in close proximity.
