Compatible video resolutions / frame rates

The BoxCaster is capable of receiving NTSC and PAL inputs via the composite port, and the following HD video standards via the HDMI port:

  • 480p 29.97/30/59.94/60

  • 525p 60
  • 576p 25/50

  • 720p 25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60

  • 1080i 50/59.94/60

  • 1080p 25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60

Any analog audio is supported; inputs are line-level. Uncompressed (L-PCM) HDMI audio is also supported at 44.1 or 48 kHz.

Note 1: We will output a 1080 signal natively at 1080p30 or you can hardcode the stream to 1080 (Settings - BoxCaster - Edit - Advanced Settings) if you send a 1080i59.97/60 signal. All other 1080 signals will be served out at 720.

Note 2: The BoxCaster has to encode for a specific standard so switching between standards mid-stream (e.g. changing resolutions or switching from HDMI to RCA) will cause video failure.
